Not A Cranbrook Lowlife //002

Timothy Matwey

We at know that this community is only as great as the people that live here. We feel it is important to recognize those that are doing their part to make Cranbrook what it is.

Today we recognize Timothy Matwey, Tim is the manager of Youth Impact, one of Cranbrook Boys and Girls Club's programs. Youth at Youth Impact have different opportunities every day after school - from homework help to wall-climbing, swimming to skiing, board games to wide games. And it's all free. Tim has been there since the beginning in 2014 when he helped design the program. The most popular after-school activity has been Tim's cooking classes, which he teaches at the centre's community kitchen. Under his supervision, the youth have made Vietnamese salad rolls, Indian curries, treats, and even a turkey dinner with all the fixings. By teaching them to cook, Tim is equipping the youth of our city to have an awesome, delicious and nutritious future in the kitchen. Being able to cook their own food has been such an empowering and confidence building experience for the youth that visit Youth Impact.

Thanks Timothy for all that you do to make Cranbrook such an amazing place to live.
